The first of three inspiring shows with composer and keyboardist Wayne Horvitz.

"The Snowghost Sessions" may look like a traditional jazz piano trio, but with the addition of electronics, samples, and Horvitz' signature compositions, it is as much about sonic exploration as it is about swing. The Snowghost Sessions refers to a recording studio in Whitefish Montana where the music was first created. It will be released in October on the Songlines label.

"These Hills of Glory" combines a classical string quartet, in 4 movements, with an improvising soloist. Performed by four of Seattle's finest and in demand string players (Paris Hurley, Alina To, Heather Bentley & Maria Scherer Wilson), they are joined by clarinetist Beth Fleenor, a long-time collaborator of Mr. Horvitz'. This piece will also be released on CD in October on the National Sawdust label. It will be paired on the release with Those Who Remain: Concerto for Orchestra and Improvising Soloist. This composition was commissioned and premiered by the Seattle Symphony in 2015, conducted by Ludovic Morlot, and featuring guitarist Bill Frisell.
